Redeemer Church is rapidly outgrowing their current worship space, and subsequently supporting ministry spaces as a result. With a strong student ministry filling the entire building every week and a growing congregation of families, they engaged Equip in search of a masterplan which would accommodate all these needs on their current site.

Equip identified the first step forward as a 24,000 sf. addition. The new space will feature a bright, naturally-lit worship space (which will double the church’s capacity), an expanded lobby that will serve as a main connector for sides of the campus, and a new admin suite in proximity to the worship center. This light color scheme, wood tones, and abundant glass are a breath of fresh air for Redeemer’s congregation who is hungry for connection with the outdoors throughout all of Illinois’ seasons. It’s rare for Equip to get to incorporate natural light into a primary worship venue, but we are excited for the opportunity to showcase a unique design for a fantastic client. In addition, the design includes a toasty fireplace in the main lobby for families to enjoy during the winter season.

With the project design well underway, the church is looking to break ground in 2025.
