Martin Duarte

Martin was born and raised a missionary kid in Uruguay, South America. Throughout his childhood, he was exposed to several construction projects in the mission field, which grew his interest in construction and architecture early on. By the time he reached high school, Martin was able to attend a technical school specializing in construction and architectural design. Thanks to a design competition in high school in which he built a structure out of spaghetti that withheld 80 lbs. of bricks, Martin received first place prize which was a 70% scholarship for architecture school. At this point, Martin has finished 3 years of the 5-year program which, upon completion, earns him an architecture license in his home country.

In December 2023, Martin married the love of his life, Belle. Outside of the office, Martin loves to travel. He spent the first half of 2024 (before joining Equip) in Istanbul on an exchange program for which he was selected by his school. We’re thankful to have Martin while he takes a small break from school to get some field experience before finishing his degree.
