Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church had been feeling major growing pains in their children’s education space for a few years before approaching Equip Studio to develop a new masterplan for their 230-year-old campus. There is so much history on this campus, but unfortunately, its existing facilities were no longer meeting the needs of the congregation’s current generation. Through our EquipLABS process, we were able to immerse our team in Mt. Pisgah’s DNA to establish several potential design solutions with varying levels of complexity.

The approved design direction sent the congregation into a season of bittersweet (but mostly sweet) processing as the church voted to shuffle and demolish existing structures to make way for the new lobby and children’s education building. This choice was far from easy, but the team acknowledges the need to prepare their facility for the next generation of growth.

Equip led the design effort non only through architecture and interiors, but with furniture selection, signage, wayfinding, theming, and a rebrand of Pisgah Kids ministry. The church moved into their new space in Spring 2025.
