In 2007, Lakeshore Church completed their current building on a 50-acre parcel of land in Rockwall, TX, a city located on the shore of Lake Ray Hubbard just outside of Dallas. By 2021, The church had outgrown their existing 43k sf. facility and brought on Equip Studio to provide a masterplan for their campus with the initial phase being a new 1,200-seat worship venue and lobby. The church desires for guests to not only feel welcomed, but to have a clear sense of direction from pulling into the parking lot until they reach their seat. With plenty of land available, the proposed design incorporates a large front lawn with flanking children’s play space and outdoor cafe seating.

Once inside the new 31,500 sf. addition, a slightly-elevated upper lobby provides a connection point to the renovated Kid’s Check-in area and existing building, as well as a visual overview of the lower lobby containing the cafe, Next Steps space, and worship entrances. Glass lite garage doors along the cafe promote a connection to the outdoor patio and front lawn, while also providing plenty of visual connection between both spaces in order to create a welcoming facade.
