National Community Church

Washington, D.C.

Project Description

National Community Church, led by Pastor Mark Batterson, partnered with Equip Studio to develop a design that conveyed their story as well as the story of our nation’s capital. The solution started with the renovation of the “Blue Castle”, a historic structure situated in the heart of the Navy Yard in the District of Columbia. Once functioning as the city’s cable car workshop, the Castle is now home to NCC’s broadcast campus. The design includes a 1000-seat auditorium, a second Ebenezer’s Coffee location, office space, and a children’s environment that will double as a daycare facility during the week. Their marketplace ministry model is establishing a new way to do church that is proving impactful across the country.
