True North Church – Haddon Campus

Haddon Township | NJ

With a growing mobile campus in Camden County, NJ, True North Church dreamed of a permanent home. That dream became a reality when Grace Baptist Church closed their doors and donated their facilities to True North. This 12k sf. mid-century modern church (built in 1968) was the answer to years of prayer.

True North engaged Equip Studio for the overhaul. The new design solution included a new lobby, larger (accessible) restrooms, re-working of circulation pathways, a wheelchair lift, and a reconfiguration of the main worship auditorium. The entire facility received new finishes with special attention given to the children’s areas. The facility’s exterior received a face lift with a screen wall and porch, transforming the front-facing façade. This transition also directed visitors straight into the new lower-level lobby while also helping the building align with the Church vernacular. In addition, the site underwent major changes with the removal of the parsonage, addition of new parking, installation of a playground, and all new landscaping.
